  1. Vanessa,
I believe that in some ways, humans have a basic instinct to interact and work as a group to some extent. In addition, due to different experiences during development, I believe that some humans don’t have a basic instinct to interact and work as a group. Depending on the person and their background and experiences through life, some of us have that natural instinct to work with others. Then there are some who may have been taught that it is just better to complete things along. Many times, when we share our ideas we feel that the other person will steal them and use them for their own self-interest. In some ways, this may be true but collaboration is taking place as well. Sometimes, humans don’t realize that they are actually learning about one another and bouncing ideas back and forth between one another. I agree that today social networking has the ability to facilitate collaboration amongst learners as well as allowing them the opportunity to problem solve from various settings in a collective format. Today, we communicate and collaborate more through social networking than in face-to-face environments.
